Day 2: Finca El Pilar / Antigua Walking Tour

Finca El Pilar is a small paradise located in the mountain forest of Guatemala and just 10 minutes from the center of La Antigua Guatemala.

It has an infrastructure of trails for bird watching, which spread through the organic plantations of coffee, mountain forest, and cloud forest.

Noon return to Antigua to have lunch in a local restaurant in Antigua

14:00 hrs, you will start the thrilling cultural tour of Antigua

Day 3: Tecpan / Chichicastenango Market / Santiago Atitlan

6:00 am. Departure from Antigua Guatemala toward the Tecpan area. Breakfast in Tecpan

Bird watching tour in Tecpan Reserve where you will find interesting endemic species of the North Central American highlands.

After birding in Tecpan transfer to Chichicastenango Market for cultural immersion.

Lunch in Chichicastenango and transfer to Panajachel and boat ride to Santiago Atitlan.

Day 4: Los Tarrales Reserve Day tour

Time for Coffee and transfer Los Tarrales Reserve (1 hour) at your arrival transfer to the La Isla area at Volcan Atitlan

Day 5: Boat Lake Tour

This morning you will take a scenic boat ride across Lake Atitlan (30min) to the San Juan La Laguna village where you can visit the women’s textile cooperative to see hand weaving and the natural dye process.

Visit the studios/homes of the celebrated naïf painters, then continue to the village of Santiago.

After lunch (Not Included) you will continue your tour to the village visiting the Maya God Maximon and learning about the textiles, spiritualism, and beliefs of the T’zutujil Maya.

Day 6: Rey Tepepul / Flight to Flores

Morning birdwatching at Rey Tepepul; this Park is located in Santiago Atitlan, on the western slopes of the Atitlan volcano.

11:00 AM. Transfer to the airport in time to catch your local flight to Flores

Day 7: Las Guacamayas Station

After breakfast leaves Flores for an approximately 3 hrs trip, the whole road proposes a great birding opportunity to watch some birds in open areas, secondary forests, and ponds.

Upon your arrival, you will be received by the EBG staff.

Nighttime aquatic excursion

Day 8: El Peru Archaeological Site / Guacamayas Station

5:00 am. Time for a coffee (breakfast on route). We will board our boat that will take you to the entrance of the El Peru trial for a birding tour where we will visit the most important nesting area of the Scarlet Macaw (Ara Macaw) in Guatemala.

Day 9: Tikal National Park

Early birdwatching around the river and the lodge

Midmorning transfer to Tikal National Park with a stop in Flores Island to have lunch

Sunset tour at Tikal National Park

Day 10: Tikal National Park full day / Guatemala City

Early birdwatching Tour within Tikal National Park, Tikal is part of the nucleus areas of the Maya Biosphere Reserve, with a high level of conservation activities and research.

The monuments, remnants of the ancient Maya culture located in the middle of luscious jungles, are ideal places for birdwatching where we will find interesting species

Midday archaeological tour

Afternoon transfer to the airport in time to catch your flight to Guatemala City

Meet & greet in Guatemala City and transfer to your hotel

Day 11: Back Home

Breakfast and transfer to La Aurora International Airport in time to catch your international flight back home.
